โจ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the high-altitude terroirs of Mendoza's Uco Valley, Trapiche's Gran Medalla Cabernet Sauvignon represents a sophisticated evolution of the estate's historic 'Medalla' range, which was originally launched in 1983 to commemorate the winery's centennial. Sourced from meticulously selected vineyards situated at the foothills of the Andes, the grapes benefit from intense mountain sunlight and dramatic diurnal temperature swings. This unique microclimate yields thick-skinned berries with concentrated flavors and balanced acidity. The wine is crafted using traditional fermentation techniques followed by extensive aging in French oak barrels for approximately 18 months. The result is a deeply structured, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon characterized by intense aromas of cassis, black cherries, and eucalyptus, seamlessly integrated with notes of cedar, tobacco, and sweet spice.
