Trapiche Medalla was first created in 1983 to commemorate the winery's centenary, marking a historic milestone as one of Argentina's first premium Bordeaux-style blends. Crafted to showcase the exceptional potential of Mendoza's terroirs, this landmark wine is sourced from select vineyards in the prestigious Primera Zona, particularly Maipu and Lujan de Cuyo. The blend is traditionally dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, which provides structure, herbaceous complexity, and longevity, complemented by Malbec for plush dark fruit and Merlot for a soft, rounded finish. Aged for around 18 months in French oak barrels, it delivers a sophisticated profile of black currants, sweet spices, and elegant, well-integrated tannins that pay homage to over a century of winemaking excellence.

Founded in 1883 by Tiburcio Benegas, Trapiche is one of Argentina's oldest and most pioneering wineries, located in the Maipú department of Mendoza. Operating from a historic, beautifully restored Florentine-style winery built in 1912, the estate is celebrated for introducing French grape varieties and modern viticultural techniques to the region. Under the guidance of renowned winemakers, Trapiche focuses on expressing the diverse terroirs of Mendoza—ranging from high-altitude Andean vineyards to their pioneering coastal estate in Chapadmalal, Buenos Aires. The winery is globally acclaimed for its exceptional Malbecs, particularly its Single Vineyard series, as well as elegant expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
