✨ wine.spec_sheet

Part of Trapiche's prestigious Terroir Series, this wine pays tribute to Felipe Villafañe, one of Mendoza's most dedicated grape growers. Sourced from his exceptional vineyard in La Consulta, situated in the high-altitude Uco Valley, this single-vineyard Malbec showcases the profound synergy between grower and winemaker. The old vines thrive in sandy loam soils layered with calcium carbonate, enduring dramatic diurnal temperature swings that foster deep concentration and vibrant acidity. Matured for up to 18 months in French oak, it delivers a sophisticated profile of dark berries, violets, and graphite, grounded by a robust yet velvety tannic structure.

Founded in 1883 by Tiburcio Benegas, Trapiche is one of Argentina's oldest and most pioneering wineries, located in the Maipú department of Mendoza. Operating from a historic, beautifully restored Florentine-style winery built in 1912, the estate is celebrated for introducing French grape varieties and modern viticultural techniques to the region. Under the guidance of renowned winemakers, Trapiche focuses on expressing the diverse terroirs of Mendoza—ranging from high-altitude Andean vineyards to their pioneering coastal estate in Chapadmalal, Buenos Aires. The winery is globally acclaimed for its exceptional Malbecs, particularly its Single Vineyard series, as well as elegant expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
