Van Volxem's Scharzhofberger Pergentsknopp Riesling Grosses Gewächs (GG) represents the pinnacle of dry Saar Riesling. Roman Niewodniczanski's commitment to restoring the Saar's golden age is fully realized here. The wine is crafted using traditional, low-intervention methods, including spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and slow aging in traditional large oak fuder casks. With viticultural roots reaching back to Roman antiquity and an 18th-century Jesuit monastery, Weingut Van Volxem is a historic estate situated in Wiltingen along the steep slopes of the Saar in Germany's Mosel region.
