✨ Technical Specifications
Crafted by the iconoclastic Jean-Marie Guffens of Maison Verget, '10 Ans' is a testament to the producer's legendary willingness to defy traditional Burgundian conventions. This unique white cuv ee is a multi-vintage blend of Chardonnay, meticulously selected from various parcels across their prime terroirs in Burgundy. By blending different vintages, Guffens bypasses rigid appellation laws to create a wine of singular harmony, complexity, and consistency. The wine undergoes precise pressing and is aged in a combination of oak barrels and horizontal concrete tanks, resulting in a texturally rich, mineral-driven profile. It beautifully marries the fresh, vibrant acidity of younger components with the deep, nutty, and honeyed nuances of older reserve wines, embodying the rebellious yet masterful spirit of Verget.
🍾 About the Producer
Maison Verget was established in 1990 by visionary Belgian winemaker Jean-Marie Guffens and his wife Maine Heynen in Sologny, located in the Mâconnais region of southern Burgundy. Renowned as a trailblazing négociant-éleveur, the house revolutionized Burgundy winemaking by implementing uncompromising standards of fruit selection, gentle horizontal pressing, and precise maturation on fine lees with minimal oak intervention. While celebrated globally for its pure, mineral-laden Chardonnay sourced across prime terroirs from the Mâconnais to Chablis and the Côte d'Or, Verget also applies its meticulous craft to expressive Pinot Noir and pioneering southern expressions. The resulting wines are acclaimed for their tension, crystalline purity, and authentic expression of site.
