Hailing from the sun-drenched slopes of southern Alsace, the 'Douceur Automnale' (Autumn Sweetness) Gewurztraminer by Cave du Vieil-Armand is a poetic tribute to the late-season harvest. As autumn settles over the historic foothills of Hartmannswillerkopf, the Gewurztraminer grapes are left to hang on the vines, basking in the mild October sun to concentrate their natural sugars and develop complex, exotic aromatics. This cuve captures the essence of this magical transition of seasons. Grown on rich, mineral-inflected soils, the grapes are carefully harvested and slowly fermented to preserve their intense bouquet of lychee, rose petals, and baking spices. The result is a beautifully balanced, off-dry to sweet white wine that reflects both the resilience of the local terroir and the time-honored craftsmanship of the Alsace region.

Established in 1959 at the foot of the historic Hartmannswillerkopf battlefield in Wuenheim, France, the Cave du Vieil-Armand is the southernmost wine cooperative in Alsace. Drawing from unique terroirs characterized by granite and silt soils, the winery is celebrated for its precise, expressive CrΓ©mant d'Alsace sparkling wines, including the Bienvenue Brut and Chateau Ollwiller expressions, the latter sourced from one of the region's few historic castle estates. Committed to sustainable winegrowing, they produce an elegant range of traditional Alsatian varietals, from mineral-driven Sylvaner to rich Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. The estate is located at 1 Route de Cernay, 68500 Wuenheim, Alsace, France, and their official website is https://www.cave-vieil-armand.com.
