Hailing from the sunny, south-facing foothills of the Vosges Mountains near the historic Hartmannswillerkopf battlefield, the Tradition Pinot Noir from Cave du Vieil-Armand represents the classic, elegant style of Alsatian red winemaking. As the sole red grape permitted in the region, Pinot Noir thrives in the cooperative's unique terroirs of granite, limestone, and silt. This cuvée is crafted using traditional maceration and aging in stainless steel tanks to preserve the vibrant, pure fruit character of the grape. Established in 1959 at the foot of the historic Hartmannswillerkopf battlefield in Wuenheim, France, the Cave du Vieil-Armand is the southernmost wine cooperative in Alsace. Drawing from unique terroirs characterized by granite and silt soils, the winery is celebrated for its precise, expressive Crémant d'Alsace sparkling wines, including the Bienvenue Brut and Chateau Ollwiller expressions, the latter sourced from one of the region's few historic castle estates.
