✨ Technical Specifications
Crafted from morainic gravel and calcareous clay soils, this cuvée utilizes a partial appassimento technique wherein hand-selected red clusters undergo brief desiccation to concentrate sugars, polyphenols, and aromatics. Following temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation with prolonged maceration, the wine matures in French and Slavonian oak casks to soften its structural framework while integrating baking spice nuances.
🍾 About the Producer
Villa Annaberta is a cornerstone estate of the historic Cottini family winemaking enterprise, tracing its roots to Carlo Cottini's original agricultural foundation in 1925. Dedicated by Diego Cottini to his wife Annalberta, the estate is situated in Caprino Veronese near Lake Garda within the northern hills of Verona. The vineyards benefit from a distinctive sub-Alpine microclimate tempered by the lake's thermal moderation, planted on calcareous, morainic gravel and marl soils ideally configured for high-density, low-yield Guyot viticulture. Cottini adheres to strict environmental criteria backed by Biodiversity Friend certification. Winemaking blends traditional Veronese appassimento regimes with modern stainless steel vinification and maturation in oak barrels. Villa Annaberta is renowned for expressive expressions of Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG and Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore, alongside contemporary proprietary cuvées such as Canaja and Canaja Gold Rosso Veronese IGT, which exhibit polished concentration, bright acid architecture, and opulent dried-fruit character.
