These heavy soils naturally restrict vine vigor and retain moisture, forcing the roots deep and resulting in lower yields of highly concentrated fruit. This terroir imparts a distinctive structural weight and flinty minerality to the wine, setting it apart from typical tropical Marlborough styles. Fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve its aromatic purity, the wine often undergoes extended lees contact to enhance its rich, textured mouthfeel.
