The Rüdesheimer Berg Rottland is situated on the steep, south-facing slopes at the edge of the Rhine Gorge, where the river bends and creates a unique microclimate. The name 'Rottland' dates back to the 11th century, originating from the German word 'roden' or 'reuten,' which refers to the clearing of wild forest land to plant vines. This VDP.Grosse Lage (Grand Cru) site is characterized by its intense sun exposure and complex soils of decomposed slate, quartzite, and gravel. Weingut Leitz crafts this Grosses Gewächs (GG) as a dry, powerful, and deeply structured Riesling. Fermented with native yeasts and aged on its fine lees, it beautifully balances the natural opulence and ripe peach notes of the warm site with a piercing, stony minerality and vibrant acidity that defines the Rheingau's finest terroirs.

With family viticultural heritage in Rüdesheim tracing back to 1744, Weingut Leitz began a dynamic modern era when Johannes Leitz took helm of the family estate in 1985.
