Typically best enjoyed 5–20 years from the vintage release, as the intense acidity and mineral structure beautifully integrate and develop complex petrol, honeyed, and dried fruit notes over time.

✨ wine.spec_sheet

Perched on the breathtakingly steep slopes of the Rüdesheimer Berg Schlossberg, overlooking the Rhine River, this wine represents the pinnacle of Rheingau Riesling. The vineyard takes its name from the historic ruins of Burg Ehrenfels, a 13th-century castle that stands sentinel over the vines. The 'Alte Reben' (old vines) planted here must struggle through demanding soils of red slate, quartzite, and gravel, forcing their roots deep into the bedrock. This extreme terroir, combined with the intense solar radiation reflected from the river, yields a Riesling of extraordinary concentration, crystalline purity, and a signature salty minerality. Weingut Leitz meticulously coaxes these attributes out through careful hand-harvesting and gentle cellar practices, preserving the vibrant tension and profound structural depth that defines this legendary grand cru site.
