The Rüdesheimer Kirchenpfad, or 'church path,' is a historic vineyard situated on the lower slopes of the Rüdesheim hills in the Rheingau. Its name evokes the ancient pathway parishioners walked to reach the local church. This site benefits from a unique soil composition of deep loess, clay, and quartzite, which retains moisture and imparts a distinct mineral tension to the grapes. Weingut Leitz crafts this Auslese by meticulously hand-selecting botrytis-affected and ultra-ripe golden berries late in the harvest season. The result is a luscious, sweet wine that beautifully juxtaposes rich, concentrated flavors of honeyed peach, apricot, and exotic spices with the Rheingau's signature electric, vibrant acidity, ensuring the wine remains remarkably fresh and balanced rather than cloying.
