Crafted from the steep, sun-drenched slopes of Rüdesheim in the Rheingau, where the Rhine River bends and reflects vital sunlight back onto the vines, this Kabinett is a masterclass in tension and balance. The soils here, rich in quartzite and weathered slate, impart a distinct, stony minerality to the grapes. Weingut Leitz utilizes cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve the pristine, high-toned fruit character and natural acidity of the Riesling grape. Historically, the term 'Kabinett' originated in the Rheingau at nearby Kloster Eberbach, where monks reserved their finest wines in a special cabinet ('Cabinet'). Leitz honors this centuries-old tradition by producing a wine that perfectly balances delicate residual sweetness with a vibrant, electric spine of acidity.

With family viticultural heritage in Rüdesheim tracing back to 1744, Weingut Leitz began a dynamic modern era when Johannes Leitz took helm of the family estate in 1985. Through uncompromising dedication to quality, he transformed a modest 2.9-hectare holding into an internationally celebrated powerhouse focused on prime steep-slope parcels across the Rüdesheimer Berg, including iconic grand cru sites such as Berg Schlossberg, Berg Roseneck, and Berg Rottland. The estate's philosophy emphasizes meticulous vineyard stewardship and gentle cellar intervention to capture the slate- and quartzite-rich terroir with absolute purity and energy.
