✨ Technical Specifications
Sourced from the steep, terraced inclines around Rüdesheim, this Kabinett captures the distinctive interaction between quartzite-rich slate soils and the Rhine's moderating influence. Hand-harvested fruit is gently pressed and fermented cool in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks alongside traditional neutral German oak casks. Fermentation is halted deliberately to preserve natural residual sugar balanced by vibrant acidity, yielding a classic, featherlight expression driven by crisp orchard fruit and precise stony minerality.
🍾 About the Producer
Weingut Leitz traces its familial viticultural ancestry back to 1744, though its modern renaissance commenced in 1985 when Johannes Leitz assumed control of the war-ravaged, 2.9-hectare family estate in Rüdesheim am Rhein. Through meticulous parcel acquisition and restoration of steep, historic slate and quartzite terraces, Leitz transformed the domaine into a premier Rheingau reference point. The estate's premier holdings encompass celebrated VDP.Grosse Lagen crus on the dramatic south-facing slopes of the Rüdesheimer Berg, including Berg Schlossberg, Berg Roseneck, Berg Kaisersteinfels, and Berg Rottland Hinterhaus. Farming is conducted sustainably under FAIR'N GREEN certification, employing green cover crops, pomace composting, and manual slope work. Cellar practices combine spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel and neutral Stückfass casks, yielding dry Rieslings characterized by crystalline minerality, razor-sharp tension, and phenolic depth, alongside innovative benchmarks such as the non-alcoholic Eins Zwei Zero portfolio.
