The 'Goldgrube' (meaning gold mine) refers to the prized, south-facing, weathered grey slate soils that catch the maximum amount of sunlight, allowing the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness while retaining their signature electric acidity. Utilizing traditional, minimal-intervention winemaking, including spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, this Spätlese beautifully captures the classic Mosel tension. Established in 2000 by the late Swiss winemaker Daniel Vollenweider, Weingut Vollenweider is located in Traben-Trarbach in the Mosel region of Germany.
